55 and Change looks at 60!

imagesMy birthday approaches and I’m experiencing a bit more than the usual annual  introspection. I blame it on our blog!  It seems we just dreamed up this 55 and Change idea but already “and change” applies to me! On the way from mid to late 50’s (What?!?) I’m feeling a bit protective of myself and so almost shied away from an article with the words I’m Too Old in the title.  I never, ever, EVER like to think that I’m too old for anything! At least not too old for anything that I actually want.  I’ve thought about this fairly often over the last few years, as I continue to work hard, expand my horizons and challenge myself in many new ways. I love this age and stage of life, even as I come to accept that certain experiences may no longer be in the cards for me. Still, I don’t classify myself with the ‘old’ word. In this article, author Dominique Browning, looks at age 60, and being “too old”, in a whole new light, and I love it!  I can relate to her acceptance of herself and others, her maturity-induced freedom to let go of some of the unnecessary dramas in life and her discovery of new feelings and opportunities. This is a good read, enjoy! I’m Too Old for This, by Dominique Browning

Laura

55 and Change blogger, Laura, is loving life! She embraces the freedom that this age and stage allows. She is married to Paul, a very loving, supportive (and patient!) man and they have a large, close-knit family, most of whom live nearby. She is a daughter, a sister and aunt, a mother of two wonderful children and grandmother of two adorable little sweethearts. She loves to work hard in a business about which she is very passionate. Blogging is a pursuit that stretches her out her comfort zone and satisfies a long neglected creative urge.
