Influences

We are influenced by so many things- some subtle, and some not. Clouds wafting across a pinkish sky can calm us and bring our thoughts to a safe resting place. A song on the radio may bring a smile, as we fade back to another time in our lives. A news report may jog our senses and perplex us; each situation influencing our mood and thoughts. Throughout history discoveries and events have directly and indirectly impacted society.

Charles Darwin’s experiments with electric shock on frogs had a profound effect on an unlikely individual- a writer. Mary Shelley was influenced by his work and thus created Frankenstein; her greatest work!

So, as we enjoy this Halloween weekend, perhaps we should take some time to notice what is influencing us. It just may lead to something surprising!

Happy Halloween!
