A penny caught my eye as I strolled across the grocery store parking lot. Not one to let it go unnoticed, I stopped and picked it up. I’ve heard that pennies are messages from loved ones, and signs of good fortune. For me, picking it up was just a left over childhood habit. After giving it a quick inspection, I looked at the date; 1959. Since I was born in 1959 and currently am 59 years old, I took some interest in this small, but intriguing possession. For fifty-nine years, this small piece of copper has made its way through the world. It was in remarkably good shape, considering the number of pockets, purses, hands, and banks it had passed through! Perhaps it was the last needed cent to buy a special present. Maybe it was the turning point for having just enough…
Fifty-nine has some notable achievements- 59 is the last minute in a given hour, and the last second in a given minute. It is the number of beads on a Roman Catholic rosary. According to numerology, 59 reduces to the digit 5 (5 +9 = 14 and 1 + 4 = 5). The energy represented by 59 is a sense of personal freedom. It is the destiny position of the chart and means the person is interested in virtually everything.
I’m not sure what to think of all that 59 suggests, but I do know that I’m going to keep my little penny. It will remind me that each year is to be treasured. Even the smallest of things can have a big impact.
Ok readers….as I was looking for images for this post, I saw that a 1959 penny with a D under the date is worth between $500 and $1,000.00. What?! This little gem was truly a gift. I’m doing some research and will keep you posted!
