Ok, so I never go to the mall. I either shop at Target or shop online.
Today I decided to stop at the mall on my way home from work to purchase some much needed, favorite facial cleanser Shiseido, from Sephora, and some bug repellent perfume, Aromaflage, from Dillards- Zika in Florida, yikes!
As I pulled into the parking lot, I nonchalantly walked into the mall entrance, not thinking of anything really- mind in a dismal state of apathy after a day’s work. However, when I stepped into the building, it was magical!
The shining tile floor announced its presence like the Taj Mahal. The polished squares beckoned me in. There wasn’t a speck of dirt or grime. It was intoxicating. I glanced around, and everything was in perfect order. The shelves were lined with smart looking purses and matching blouses and pants. The lighting was just dim enough to provide a soothing inviting feeling. Since it was 5:00, most shoppers were home preparing for dinner, thus there was a calming quiet with only the echo of my footsteps, along with soft music wafting through the air. As I turned each corner, I was mesmerized by the the beauty, order, and newness of everything. It was perfect.
What?! Yes…a mall. I wanted to buy EVERYTHING.
I was shocked by my reaction. What previously had been a grazing habitat of my youth, had now become an orderly place of awe and illumination.
I’m just glad I got out of there with only my two original items. I’ll stick to my online shopping for the most part, but when I’m feeling like things are out of control and I need a little enchantment, I guess I’ll just go to the mall!
Ha ha! Nothing like an nice department store without people to brighten your day!
Glad you saw the humor in it!
Lovely visuals! Almost makes me want to go….almost !
Yes- almost… haha!
